It’s that time again for another awesome TOP 5 list. Can you feel the excitement?! This week was a tough one. A lot of pain and suffering deciding which ones to put in the top 5, but here it is ,for better or worse, my top 5 action movies of all time. These are the action movies I can’t get enough of.
I’m going to keep this real short because my boy Thejsun is also doing a review and no one needs two reviews pretty much saying the same thing. They finally did it right. Marvels reboot of the Hulk is awesome. As far as pure enjoyment, it is on par with Ironman, Batman Begins, and the first 2 X-Men. The story may not be as complex and the characters may be a little cliche, but it’s the Hulk. You don’t need complex. We have all seen what happens when they try and make a complex Hulk…horrible things. All we need is a basic story that makes sense, for the most part, and lots and lots of Hulk smashing. And I am happy to say that that is what Marvel has given us. The story may not be as clever as their recent Iron Man movie, but The Incredible Hulk has WAY more action. I can’t even begin to describe to you how big my smile was in the theater when Hulk and the Abomination finally throw down in the end. It was comic book nerd nirvana! It literally made me want to jump out of my seat and cheer. Hulk Smash my friends…Hulk SMASH!

So I was watching the 80’s classic “Gung Ho” the other night and I realized the Hollywood land scape is missing something. 80’s Michael Keaton! Now I know what you are thinking, “Mar, you crazy!”, and to that I say ”FOR SHAME!”. (more…)
So I just got back from watching what in my opinion is one of the best CGI action movies since “The Incredibles”. Kung Fu Panda, from start to finish, is pure awesomeness, and in the words of Po (Jack Black) “There is no charge for awesomeness!” (more…)
So it was suggested that I explain my rating system (I actually meant to and forgot so thanks for the reminder Gamin). Basically I really love Arizona Green Tea. That is my drink of choice. So rather than giving something a star rating (I prefer star ratings over grade ratings) I just replace the star with Arizona Green Tea (the bottles not those wimpy 99 cent cans). Anyway that is basically it. I may change my rating system to something more complex like candy bars or prize fighters but for now I’m sticking with Arizona Green Tea.
It’s been a while but I have had shit to do and well I’m lazy so here is my first attempt at a game review. First off I must begin by saying I love the Devil May Cry series of games. Yes I am biased, and I don’t care. Devil May Cry has almost everything I ever wanted in a game. Violence, explosions, demons, blood, flawless action, a large variety of cool moves (that are easy to pull off), and most importantly a smart ass main character. The original Devil May Cry is still one of my favorite games of all time. What it lacked in good story telling it more than made up for in extremely fun game play and all around badassedness! That’s right I said it, BADASSEDNESS! Devil May Cry is the story of Dante, a demon hunter (who just happens to be half demon himself, on his father’s side) who works out of a bar called (yes, you guessed it) Devil May Cry. He gets a call that there is some demon mischief, and he goes and gives those nasties a spankin. Fairly simple story I know, but like I said you DO NOT play for the story. The second game was a let down mainly because it was way to easy which made it very boring. The creators of the game apparently realized this and made the third installment more challenging. WAY MORE (I am not a writer by profession so get ready to see a lot of bad grammar and/or made up words) challenging! The boss battles were ungodly difficult, but the game surprisingly enough was still a lot of fun. They made improvements on the story telling, and gave Dante even more awesome moves by giving him four different fighting styles. Which brings us to Devil May Cry 4… (more…)
So apparently I am the only true procrastinator here so far (For shame on all of you posers). I was supposed to post something yesterday and I didn’t. Why? Eh..?In the words of one of my favorite comics, Maria Bamford “I had a lot of shit I had to not get done.” I post when I wanna post. I can’t control the magic that comes from my brain. It just happens. You can’t rein in this genius. When I wanna rock, I’ll ROCK! If you haven’t guessed already I am the wise ass of this group, and if your lucky I may post something next week HA!
