Today, at 6pm Pacific Time, a fantastic charity fundraiser began over at Desertbus.org. In case you have no idea what it is (and many of you probably don’t), Desert Bus for Hope is where the Loading Ready Run crew plays the most boring video game ever created: Desert Bus. Basically, its a realistic, 16-bit simulation of a drive from Phoenix, AZ to Las Vegas, NV, and it drifts slightly to the right the whole time. Oh yeah, awesomeness. You can watch them play via live webcams, and interact with them via IRC, and see just how much they are tortured by this game. They also do silly things in front of the camera to pass time. And, what keeps them playing is donations from people like you. Yes, you!
“Why?” you ask. Well, all donations to Desert Bus are then donated to Child’s Play, a charity established by the creators of Penny Arcade, Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, to help children’s hospitals with entertainment for their young patients. Targeted to gamers and geeks, Child’s Play has generated millions of dollars in donations.
So, do you want to help the children? Do you want to make internet comedians dance to your tune? Do you want to see them play the most boring game ever made? Then, go visit it Desert Bus and enjoy! Remember, it’s for the children!
I am not sure what else to say. The video has to been seen.
*note* There is cartoonish violence, and gore towards the end of the video.
