Mar’s Top 5…CGI Movies

Ok this top 5 was requested by Kuna. She said that if I didn’t do it she would hurt me…sooo I decided to do it because I don’t want to lose a thumb.

I really enjoy CG movies. Even if the majority of these films are geared for children I still like them. Maybe it’s because a CG movie takes so much time and effort to make the creators of these films have no choice but to make sure they do the best they can. Whatever the reason here are my favorites…

5. Wall-E. A robot (that kinda looks like a miniature Johnny 5) looking for love and companionship. Need I say more.

4. Surfs Up. This one is kinda my guilty pleasure GG movie. I can actually think of other CG films that are better constructed, but this one had a quirky sense of humor that I liked, and the premise of it being a mockumentary was really funny. I just really enjoy watching this one. Plus the CGed water looks like real water. It was mind blowing.

3. Meet The Robinsons. Ok this one was a sleeper. I went into the theater thinking that it was going to be lame. I wasn’t to impressed with the trailers when I saw them, but my sis and I decided to see it anyway because it was CG. To my surprise this movie had a lot of heart, and it was really funny. Again this movie had this weird quirky sense of humor that I just really loved and got. My favorite bits of the movie was any scene involving the villain “Bowler Hat Guy”. He was just so inept at being a villain you kinda felt sorry for him.

2. Kung Fu Panda. I know this one just came out, but it was too cool. Jack Black as a Panda that learns how to master kung fu through eating. Come ON! …and the prison escape and the bridge fight were some of the best action sequences I have seen in ANY movie.

1. The Incredibles. Hands down the best CG film ever. Brad Bird is a GOD! He can do no wrong in my eyes. First he gave me “The Iron Giant” then “The Incredibles”. The action was top notch. My favorite sequence of the movie was when Mrs. Incredible is flying the jet and trying to evade the missiles on her tail. Edge of my seat every time. Every single character in this film was great. My favorites were the two kids, Dash and Violet. Dash, the extrovert I always wanted to be, and Violet, the introvert that I am. This was a movie about a family with real family problems and they just happen to have superpowers. Who can’t relate to that…well ok I guess most of us don’t have superpowers, but maybe some day…

There you have it. Read, discuss, criticize. You know you want to.

Yeah Meet the Robinsons was a shocker for me as well. I still need to see Surf’s Up, but I certainly like your other choices here.

NICE list :D I haven’t seen Surfs up or Meet the Robinsons though… perhaps now I will since I’m curious to know why the two made the top 5 list. And I can relate to you about Dash and Violet with the extrovert vs introvert type thing.

lol and why does everyone think I’m so violent? Anyway I think I’m going to go blow up some tanks and shoot some peeps in BF:BC to take out frustration.
