Mar’s Top 5…Comic Books

OK ok ok. I have been meaning to do this one for a while but it was tough because comics change all the time. One day you will be into a certain comic and then all of the sudden they change writers or artists and the comic goes right down the crap shoot. So what I have done is basically picked out my favorite comcs during a certain point in there story. For instance rather than just saying X-Men I have selected a certain point in the X-Men story line as my favorite. So now that that is explained lets get to it… (more…)

Silver LOVES the Dark Knight!

I’m sure the others have plenty to say about this movie, so I’ll keep it short.

I really liked Batman Begins. This one blew it out of the water! I came out of the movie theater giddy; this movie is easily among my top 5 favorites. It doesn’t have what you’d call a “twist” ending, but when its over, you want to see it again real soon so you can pick up all the small details.

Go see it! Chances are you’ll want to see it more than once on the big screen.

Edit: I know this isn’t exactly a review, but I don’t know who was supposed to actually review the movie and I didn’t want to step on anybody’s toes.  If and only if the reviewer(s) don’t share my enthusiasm for this movie will I go into more detail about why this movie is among my favorites.  I hope that clarifies my vagueness.

A Gamin Shout Out: Nine Inch Nails, The Slip

Greetings everybody alive and reading this.  I’m gonna try to keep this “Shout Out” short and sweet otherwise it’d just turn into a review and it wouldn’t really be much of a Shout Out now would it?  I recently(today) received an email newsletter from nin.com regarding a release of their newest album The Slip.  I’m a HUGENORMUS fan of Nine Inch Nails so this news was rather exciting for me.  Especially since lately “news” I’ve received has…well F’in sucked…but I digress.  Back to the topic at hand!  What makes this Shout Out so special is this new album by NIN is…wait for it….FREE!!!!!  That’s right bipedal boys and girls!  Gamin just laid down the fire!!!!!  http://www.nin.com/  that’s the website, and it’s right on the main page!  I’m listening to it right as I type, and the song titled Discipline is F’in awesome!!!!  So far the album is pretty solid stuff, standard NIN’s sound so if you’re a fan you’ll like it.  It’s vocals this time around unlike Ghosts which was cool, but so far this fits me better(I said me, maybe Ghosts fits YOU better; that’s what makes music great people, you decide) Others need not apply, but damn how hard can you be on a FREE album damn it!  Trent Reznor will always be a music god for me even if he never reaches the heights of his yesturyears.  If you’re a NIN fan, or like that style of music I highly recommend checking out the site, and downloading this FREE album.  Thank you Trent and keep up the rockin!

Mar’s Top 5…Stand-Up Comics

Here is another awesome Top 5 List. This week I am making a list of my top 5 favorite stand-up comics. This is another one of those things that will change every now and then depending on what mental state I am in at the time. But I tried to do my best to make this one accurate. So lets go…

A Gamin Review: Wii Fit Round 1

Hey everybody.  I recently picked up the second money printing product from Nintendo at Target with a little help from a certain fellow Procrastinator(thanks again kuna :) ).  I titled this review “round 1″ because I’m going to break it down into 3 parts.  Sure I could of titled it ”Part 1″, but to me Round 1 had a nice ring to it so I went with it.  If the thought of it not being titled ”Part 1″ drives you so crazy that you can’t continuing reading then I understand, and can most absurdly assume you’re crazy and should seek professional help ASAP.  For those of you still here, let’s get this started. Hellboy II: The j suN Review

OK… Gotta say, or warn, that i am a huge fan of the Hellboy. I liked the first one a bunch. The look and feel of it was staggering to me. Awesome lighting and cinematography hooked me something fierce. The ending of it was a bit lame to me, but despite that i have watched it again and again finding new joy in each viewing. (Partly because of some of my favorite commentary tracks on a DVD EVer.) I was always a fan of the art and style of the comics as well. Its one of the few series i have made an effort to collect. Not a perfect effort, but so goes it, …and i digress heavily.

So that leads us to my views on the current HB. (more…)

If you know the words, sing along!

In case you’ve missed it Joss Whedon has a new project. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-long Blog. It stars Neil Patrick Harris, and various other people that I don’t recognize (which doesn’t mean much since my knowledge of Stars is quite limited), wait … Nathan Fillion (Cptn. Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly), the rest are a mystery to me. Anyway if you’re still reading this instead of going to the site … why? It is quite good, low budget joy. Episode one went up on the 15. Episode 2 will be on the 17th, and part 3 is on the 19th.

Go! Watch! Enjoy!

Mar’s Top 5…Boxers

This one is almost a week late and I’m sorry but it was tough figuring out what to write. I am no sports journalist, and I am pretty sure that will become evident as you read on. But I gave it a go any way. I am a pretty big boxing fan. I try to keep up with the sport as best I can, but the boxing landscape changes all the time. Fighters come and go. Only the truly great ones stick round. Here is my list of my all time favorite boxers. (more…)

New Shoes

Well if you can see this … you’ll probably notice things look a little different around here.  Yep we spruced up the place just for you.  This is still not quite finished but it’s in the “gold” stage.  There will proabaly be some “bug” fixes and new features as we go along.  But for now here it is.  Any comments or thoughts feel free to leave them.

I reserve the right to delete this post when it becomes irrelevent.

Wanted: The j suN review

OK… So it’s been a while since the release of Wanted. Been even longer since the previews came out of course, but that’s how far back i’m gonna reach with this review. Seems to me like the previews are often what makes the movie. I know that sounds weird, but think about it a bit. If you havn’t seen something yet, and didn’t know about it til ya saw a commercial for it, you are investing a lot in your opinion of that commercial. Where am i going with this? I’m not sure i completely know myself, but i suppose it’s to say, whatever your opinion of the commercials of this movie are, it’s probably worth checking out… at least if you like action movies.

Here is why… (more…)
